Project Objective
Founded by sisters Janett and Erika Liriano, Inaru supplies premium cacao products from the Dominican Republic through an inclusive model for ethical agriculture, cutting out the costly middlemen on the lengthy supply chain. Inaru came to us looking for a solution to address the product journey of cacao growing from farms to the consumer as well as setting up the foundations of the brand from its early stages as collective of farms to a full D2C company.
Solution
As part of the West team, we crafted a brand positioning and a three-phase strategy to engage Inaru's diverse audiences strategically. This included reaching out to local farmers, producers, community stakeholders, cacao buyers, and eventually, consumers. Our detailed audience ecosystem map highlighted the specific needs of each group, accompanied by corresponding touchpoint strategies for each phase.
Building on insights from this comprehensive map, West then developed a brand identity for Inaru that caters to both present and future objectives. The design system accommodates immediate business and growth requirements, along with considerations for the eventual end consumer. Inaru's visual identity effectively conveys its message, value, and promise, aligning with its overarching goals.
During our second collaboration with the company, we effectively executed a Valentine's Day marketing campaign. This initiative encompassed the launch of the brand's online shopping site, a notable feature on The View, the implementation of a social media marketing plan, and the creation of diverse marketing materials, including influencer packages.

Presently, the company is functioning well above the projected strategy plan and in the process of constructing its pilot refinery, actively expanding its team through new hires, and engaging in discussions with potential investors for the upcoming growth phase, marking an exciting trajectory for Inaru's development.
